Cavity Wall Insulation
Cavity walls are made of two layers of brick with a gap (or cavity) in-between them. In modern homes, insulation is inserted into the cavity, but in homes built between 1924 and 1982 this was not the case.
This cavity wall insulation is responsible for keeping the cold out, keeping the heat in, and keeping warmth and comfort levels at an optimum in your home. It can be made from foam, bead, or mineral wool – but don’t worry about this. One of our qualified and accredited surveyors will take a look around your property to find out which type is best for you.
Up to 35% of your homes heat loss escapes through uninsulated or poorly insulated walls.

Room In Roof Insulation
Installing room in roof insulation involves insulation boarding being fitted in between the rafters underneath the existing plasterboard walls. Room in roof insulation works by trapping heat within your home to create a blanket effect. This allows you to more easily maintain a warm home without using as much energy to do so, saving you money on your energy bills.
What are the benefits of room in roof insulation?
- It keeps converted lofts warm and cosy, making them more comfortable.
- Prevents heat escaping through your roof to help maintain throughout your home.
- Reduces your energy bills as your home will stay warmer for longer.
- Increases the value and desirability of your home.

Loft Insulation
Loft insulation is like a blanket for your home. Mineral fibre wool is laid between the joists along your attic floor or on the rafters that support the roof.
It improves the thermal efficiency of your home by slowing down the loss of heat to the outside which helps you keep your home warmer in winter and cooler in summer.
The placement of your insulation will have an impact on the temperature of the loft itself - insulation between the rafters will keep your loft cool, whereas insulation placed between the rafters keeps the loft a similar temperature of your home.
Loft insulation will last for up to 40 years and, due to its inexpensive cost, will pay for itself in fuel bill savings many times over.
The government’s recommendations for the thickness has increased over the years to 270mm (10.5 inches) therefore if you have pre-existing loft insulation, it may not be the correct depth and should be topped up.
This recommendation represents good value for money, with the balance between cost of the insulation and potential savings taken into account.
